2026 Conference
Shared Wisdom. Shared Practice.
The biennial conference of the Association for Reflective Practice in Theological Education (ARPTE, formerly known as ANZATFE) will be held at Vaughan Park in Auckland, New Zealand from 16-18 November 2024.
This year’s conference reflects ARPTE’s widened engagement with a richly interwoven community of reflective practitioners, bringing diverse vocations and perspectives together in a spirit of collaboration and hospitality. The Association welcomes those involved in supervision, spiritual direction, and CPE alongside academic colleagues, theological educators, and others.
In-person attendance is strongly encouraged, but an option for attendance and presentation via Zoom is also available.
We invite the submission of abstracts for workshop-style presentations from whatever angle of ministry practice one might choose to emphasise, e.g., pastoral ministry, supervision, theological education, spiritual direction, chaplaincy and clinical pastoral education..

Each workshop session will be 45 minutes and should include substantial collaborative reflection. The session should have no more than 30 minutes of input by the presenter; at least 15 minutes should be given to considered reflection—this could arise out of a succinct summary question or questions offered to the group, with the fruitful practice of Christian ministry clearly in mind.
